OGC strengthens Gateway Reviews
The move, which is outlined in the OGC’s newly published annual report, is part of the OGC’s effort to help government generate big financial savings.
Among the measures is the introduction of the Gateway Delivery Confidence Assessment as part of the Gateway Review process. This will involve ensuring that the action plans for projects address any acknowledged problems, reducing the risk of them arising later in the project. The OGC is currently working on a pilot to develop this approach.
BPM platform updated by Oracle adding new dashboard options

Business users may not understand SOA, BPM, CEP or XTP, but they know what they want to see on their dashboard and they may be willing to fund backend architecture and development projects to get more information faster, says Roy Schulte, vice president of Gartner.
Google Maps – now live live traffic
The traffic information, which the agency collects for major roads in England, is being provided to Google Maps in Datex II format, a European standard developed specifically for road data information exchange. The format provides real-time traffic information and predictions based on past conditions, helping motorists to plan their journeys ahead to avoid congestion.

CRM and BPM come together at Gartner summit
As the challenges around CRM have moved from technology to processes, business process management has taken a greater role in CRM. In fact, Gartner revealed this when analysts asked attendees at its London CRM summit what their top CRM-related challenge was. Technology didn’t even make the top three, Gartner research director Isher Kaila said during a session at its U.S.-based CRM event. Attendees cited business processes affected by CRM as their top challenge, followed closely by synchronizing information across the enterprise and assessing tangible returns. For all the investment in CRM, it seems it still fails to meet expectations.
